A Stroll In The City

A Stroll In The City

What a beautiful day for a stroll!

We convinced Mr. B to go outside and take in some fresh air. As soon as we stepped outdoors he turned to us and said, “This feels good.” Nothing like some vitamin D to make you feel better. We also noticed that Denver’s bicycle share program is up and running. And you know what that means? Spring is here! Well, at least we think so. We moseyed our way down the 16th street mall and stared at all the crazies. We ended up going to Barnes and Noble so Mr. B could use a gift card. He checked out the history section while we ventured over to the food aisle. Our new favorite cookbook right now is by chef John Besh. He is big in New Orleans and Cajun food is something that completely intrigues us. We didn’t end up buying the book but we did flip through the pages along with Pioneer Woman’s new book, Black Heels to Tractor Wheels. After a speedy pit stop to our apartment to make sure K-State was in the big dance, we decided to continue our walk in the park. We forget how much fun it is to run around in the park. It does bring out the nerd kid in us:) We didn’t stay out to long because we were getting hungry. So we decided to head back in and dig into leftovers. Dinner was simple. We were feeling something light so we threw together a speedy salad. Mixed greens, cucumbers, red onion, avocado, drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Bottled dressings are so 1998 people. We also reheated some of Pioneer Woman’s tortilla soup. It tasted even better! Go figure that we would wash our lighter dinner down with a smooth pale ale from Twisted Pine Brewing company and chocolate chips. Hey, no one is reliable. Off to watch our new favorite show, Shameless on Showtime. If you haven’t heard of this new series check it out. It’s laugh out loud hysterical! Hope you had a good weekend!
