Foodie fridays: tiramisu cupcakes

Foodie fridays: tiramisu cupcakes

We don’t consider myself to be a baker.

It’s probably because we don’t crave sweet things in general so the thought of baking up a batch of cookies every day doesn’t exactly give us JAZZ hands. We love salt. The more salt the better. Give us a handful of tortilla chips with a salsa and we will be your best friend for life. Okay, before you give us your dissertation on how baked goods deserve to be put on a pedestal, let us introduce you to something that will make us both smile.

When we were scouring the Internet this weekend searching for ideas for Foodie Fridays, we came across this recipe. We literally stopped clicking the mouse, looked at Mr. B and said, “we've hit the dessert jackpot.” Mr. B looked at us questionably.

We turned our laptop around and displayed on our computer screen was…

Tiramisu Cupcakes

Mr. B eyes lit up like a Christmas tree. We guess you can feel bad for our poor husband. He has a sweet tooth. We never buy ice cream because we are not a fan. We KNOW. What kind of inhumane person doesn’t enjoy ice cream? If it makes you feel better we do feel bad sometimes that we don’t carry enough sweets in the house. Sometimes. That’s why we are making these cupcakes today because we try to give back to the world and our husband for the lack of soft-centered desserts’ in our life.

We LOVE tiramisu. The burnt, sugary crust and the creamy filling just melts in our mouth. And cupcakes, who doesn’t love a cupcake? Mix those two concepts together and you get a fireworks display of dessert excitement!

The cupcake is sweet and tender. The soft, alluring filling and the buttercream frosting may send you through the roof. As if it couldn’t get any better, this dessert will take you an hour to make from start to finish!

WARNING: If cupcakes are consumed, impulsive marriage proposals are possible, babies may result nine months later, and large amounts of money may be given away.

So, was we not right? Aren’t these cupcakes the most epic dessert you have ever seen?

Please tell us you are smiling.
