Armpit of america
Mr. B is back.
Cue large gospel choir: “Praise the Lord.”
He arrived back this morning from Hobbs, New Mexico were a cool summer day is ninety-eight degrees. Were dust devils are the size of F5 tornadoes and well, the town is slicker then an oil field.
But, he’s back and we couldn’t be happier.
It’s hard when the one person you care about most in this world (besides your mother) is gone from your life for an extended period of time. We don’t know how army wives survive. We could barely handle two weeks let alone a full year! Whew bessy, a full year? We couldn’t even imagine.
How do you keep yourself busy when someone you love is gone? Clean? Binge drink? Stare at the wall?
When we arrived home from the airport we showed Mr. B what we had been up to since he left.
We finished the balcony, sort of…. still have a few items to add but overall it’s pretty much done.
We found these doormats at Walmart and put them together like a puzzle to cover the floor. We think it worked out okay. We searched for over two weeks to try and find an actual outdoor rug that would fit our odd size balcony so this is what we ended up with.
And the big finale was the CB2 table and chairs. We put the table together myself. Not to shabby. Can’t wait to enjoy a little reading and many meals outside.
After the parade of home improvements we headed to Osteria Marco for a late lunch.
Cheers to Mr. B being back.
We shared the Stuffed Cherry Peppers. Mr. B reminded us that the peppers were served at the Pizza Hut buffet. Funny what we remember from our childhood.
We also split a steak salad and a cubano sandwich.
Now we are off to run errands and catch up on life.
Have a good rest of the day!
